Before the 4.0.0 Switch update, if players who hadn't connected their consoles to the Internet set the system date to July 11th and performed Satoru Iwata's iconic "directly to you" motion, the NES title "Golf" would be automatically booted. This is because July 11th marks the anniversary of Iwata's unfortunate passing, and Golf was one of the first games he worked on. Regarding the removal, it's believed it happened as it was meant to be an "omamori", a lucky charm that becomes useless after it's opened. However Nintendo hasn't said anything about this.
