#688 - Unfair Against Itself


The only character who has had an uneven matchup against itself in the Smash Bros series was Snake in Brawl. This was due to a feature called port priority, which decided the outcome of certain events based on the player number in local play. In the case of a Snake ditto in Brawl, a hand grenade exploding when one player is grabbing the other will always cause the player with the lowest player number, which is based on the slot the controller is plugged or connected on, to get launched, causing a disadvantage.
