On October 2017, a demo of Pokémon Sun/Moon where players could get an Ash-Greninja was released. According to its stats screen, its original trainer was Ash and they met on October 17 2013, the airing date of the first anime episode from the X/Y season, where Ash first meets the Froakie that would later fully evolve into Greninja.
